Ruth Twiford King, 87, of La Plata, MD died suddenly on November 25, 2011 at Civista Medical Center. She was born in Marbury, MD and graduated from Lackey High School.

She worked at the Marbury Post Office, M and H Engineering, and the Bank of Southern Maryland. She was very friendly and enjoyed all of her jobs. She loved to read and to decorate. She was a lifelong member of the Marbury Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. Twiford, and Estella Henderson Twiford, brother, Richard C. Norman, IV, baby sister; Elaine, and niece, Janet Twiford Dolan.

She is survived by her son, Kevin King, and his wife Judy, her brother, Curtis Twiford, and his wife, Patricia, niece; Nancy Keselyak, nephew; Brian Keselyak and his wife Charlene, nephews, Richard C. Norman, V, and Harry Norman, and grand nieces; Sean and Caroline Dolan.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 10 am until time of service at 12 noon at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata, MD. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD. Pastor Tim Bean will officiate. A reception will follow at the Marbury Baptist Church.
