Joseph Edward DePina of La Plata, MD, died on November 11, 2011 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. He was 74 years old. Son of the late Joseph Godwin and the living Grace Woodley.

Mr. DePina was a Construction Foreman for 50 years with Mizzy Construction Company in Norwich, CT. He was a member of the American Legion and the Sportsman's Athletic Club and of the Christian faith.

Survived by his mother Grace Woodley; sons, Manuel DePina, Umar Shahid, Kenneth DePina, Craig Williams, Gregory Williams, and Akeem McCloud; daughters, Kim Lott and her husband Timothy and Teri Williams; brothers, Donald Furbert, Richard Woodley, Norman Woodley, Anthony Woodley, Vincent Woodley, Keith Woodley, Colin Woodley, and Cromwell Woodley; sisters, Marilyn Robinson, Velma Woodley, and Esther Woodley; grandchildren, Joseph DePina, Chance Lawson, Sophia Shahid, Rashida Shahid, Requan Lott, Trinity Lott, Shane Lott, Ashley Williams, Xavier Williams, Najae Velesquez, and Isaiah Williams; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, December 12, 2011 from 6-8PM with Funeral Service at 7PM in Norwich, CT. Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery in Norwich, CT. Pallbearers: The United States Army Honor Guard.
