![]() Ruth Ellen Taylor Haney, 79, of Waldorf, MD died on November 11, 2011 in her home while surrounded by family. Born in Parsonsburg, Maryland on June 5, 1932, Ruth was the daughter of the late Charles Jenifer Taylor and Helen Winifred Taylor of Parsonsburg, MD.
While she was raised in Parsonsburg, Ruth spent most of her married life in Waldorf. She was the owner of Ruth's Ceramics from 1958 to 1973. She started JRJ Income Tax Service in 1981 with her husband, Richard. She owned and successfully ran JRJ for 30 years with her 3 children, who currently run the business. Ruth continuously demonstrated and shared Christ's love with others and believed in being very direct when it came to what was right in God's eyes. Ruth had a smile that would light up anyone's heart. She truly loved her family, friends, employees and all of her tax clients. She looked forward to every tax season and loved life to the fullest. She was a natural born leader who just knew how to get things done, while at the same time faithfully mentoring those who she worked with. During the final few weeks of fighting her illness, Ruth was visited by many of her friends, family and employees, all of them whom shared heartfelt testimony to Ruth's kindness, generosity, integrity, and her care, compassion and concern for them. She is survived by her loving children, son Bradley Richard Haney, Sr. of Waldorf, daughter Pamela Sue Hans (Robert Hans) of Waldorf, daughter Jennifer Louise Warffemius of Waldorf, daughter-in-law Donna Haney of Delmar, DE , sister Grace Davis of Wango, MD, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard George Haney of Ontario, Canada, son Steven Taylor Haney of Delmar, DE, son Roderic George Haney of Homestead, FL, brothers Raymond Taylor of Waldorf, Ralph Taylor of Richmond, VA, Charles Taylor of Shavox, MD, Norman Taylor of Port Tobacco, MD, Walter Taylor of Vero Beach, FL, sisters Edith Osborne of Salisbury, MD and Alice Parker of Pittsville, MD. Pallbearers include grandsons, Bradley Haney Jr., James Haney, Greg Neal, Jr, Michael Hans, Theodore Warffemius, grandson in-law Jeremy Foster, Roger Kirk, Wendell Warffemius and her beloved caretaker Mark Oliver. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Middleton Hall, 4045 Renner Rd, Waldorf MD. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Middleton Hall. There will be a reception immediately following the service. The internment will be private at Wango Cemetery in Parsonsburg, MD on Saturday November 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Paul Goodwin of Calvary Chapel of Waldorf will officiate the service.
