Edward Eugene McCall, 86, of Hollywood, MD, and formerly of Timonium, MD, died November 2, 2011 at Hospice House of St. Mary's, Callaway, MD. Born August 19, 1925 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Edward Eugene and Catherine Virginia (Shanks) McCall.

He was the loving husband of Regina Edith Brown McCall whom he married on May 12, 1951 in Baltimore, MD.

Mr. McCall is also survived by his children: Tom McCall of Smyra, TN, Mary McConnell of Salisbury, MD, Margaret McCall of Hollywood, MD, Edward E. McCall, Jr., of Bozman, MD, Betsy Davis of Raleigh, NC. and Joan Scarff of Lutherville, MD. He is also survived by his sister Mary Catherine Shields of Miami, FL 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his brother Hugh Joseph McCall.

Edward attended Loyola High School, Baltimore, MD, and served in the United States Navy from September 11, 1943 to May 24, 1946. During World War II he served aboard the United States Tolman as part of the mine sweeping force for the invasion of Okinawa, Japan.

He moved from Timonium, MD to St. Mary's County on March, 1984, and was a Chesapeake Bay Pilot for the Association of Maryland Pilots for 40 years retiring in January, 1987. After retiring he worked for the Juvenile Court of St. Mary's County as a Bailiff. Mr. McCall belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the Navy League Tin Can Sailors where he was the treasurer, the St. Clements Island Museum, Head Usher at Church of the Nativity and St. John's Parish, founding member of Church of the Nativity Men's Club, founding member of the Dulaney Swim Club, a LTRC Baseball Umpire and a Charter Member of the Black and White Golf Team.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 10:00AM – 11:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD with Fr. Raymond Schmidt officiating and Msgr. Charles F. Meisel Co-Officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be; Thomas M. McCall, Edward E. McCall, Jr., Craig McConnell, R. Eric Davis, Cliff Scarf and D. Colin McConnell.
