Dean Harold Everman passed away peacefully on October 17, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Dean was born November 18, 1951 in Millington, Tennessee to Donald and Shirley Everman.

Dean's father was a Navy pilot and served 3 tours at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in MD. During this time Dean and his family lived in Lexington Park along the waters of Town Creek. Dean was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Town Creek (now Cornerstone Presbyterian Church) and attended Felix Johnson Educational Center in Lexington Park, MD.

Due to a debilitating childhood illness his parents sought learning and spiritual nurturing opportunities at The Duval Home in Glenwood, Florida where he sang in the Presbyterian Church choir, and joined the Boy Scouts taking part in countless scout events, and as well as the Special Olympics. In later years Dean moved to Amelia Island, Florida where he could work and enjoy activities under the nursing care of the Care Centers of Nassau.

In spite of Dean's challenges, he was blessed with a love for music and the ability to memorize, sing and play the keyboard to his favorite hymns and country music. Dean's family will always cherish the memory of the twinkle in his eyes as he sang as well as the memories of the many holiday gatherings, watching him recite the Ranger's creed on Pick Temple's pony on DCTV, enjoying his big grin as he rode his 3 wheeler and sharing in beach combing on St. Mary's County beaches.

He was predeceased by his dear mother Shirley Everman (Craddock).

He is survived by his father LCDR Donald Dean Everman (USNRET) of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, his sisters Sandra Decker (Dave) of Mechanicsville, MD, Lana Williams (Jerry) of Great Mills, MD and Melanie Richardson (Mike) of Port Orange, FL, and his 19 nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on November 4 at Purcell Funeral Home in Bushnell, FL and officiated by Pastor Randy Alonzo of Lake Panasoffkee Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Florida National Veterans Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or United Cerebral Palsy.
