Norma Jean Smith, age 86, of Catonsville, MD and formerly of Waldorf, MD died October 8, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She was born July 19, 1925 in Berlin, MD to John L and Helena (Rogers) Timmons. Sh

e was educated in Ocean City, MD and graduated from Ocean City High School. She later attended Goldey Beacom Business College in Wilmington, DE. Norma was a secretary for Eastern Shore Public Service Company.

Norma married Walter Hagan Smith November 26, 1953 at First Presbyterian Church in Ocean City. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her role as a homemaker. Her Christmas cookies and birthday cakes were special treats for her family and friends.

Norma is survived by her husband Walter Hagan Smith of Catonsville, MD; children Jacqueline Hagan Smith and her husband Jerry B. Hook of Royal Oak, MD, John Hagan Smith and his wife Gayle of Parkton, MD and Kathy Jean Smith Drohat and her husband Greg of Edgewater, MD; and grandchildren Michael and Brooke Smith of Parkton, MD and Grant, Amanda and Jack Drohat of Edgewater, MD.
