Mrs. Potter was a Homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryantown, MD. In her earlier years, she worked for SMECO (R.E.A.) and T. C. Martin Elementary School in Bryantown, MD.

She was married 55 years ago at St. Mary's Catholic Church Newport. She enjoyed being with her family, taking rides in the country, and playing pitch. She was known for her strong will, which helped her overcome her physical problems. Daughter of the late William Clayton Bowling and the late Gladys Pauline Herbert Bowling.

Predeceased by her parents and her late brother, Joseph Elvin Bowling.

Survived by her husband of 55 years, Francis W. Potter, Sr.; three sons, Francis W. Potter and his wife Deborah of Mechanicsville, MD, Joseph S. Potter and his wife Helen of Long Island, NY, and Larry C. Potter and his wife Sharon of Mechanicsville, MD; one brother, William Bowling and his wife Dorothy Ann of FL; and two sisters, Theresa Bowen of La Plata, MD and Catherine "Snookie" Poole of La Plata, MD. Also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, October 17, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 11AM at St. Mary's Bryantown. Clergy: Fr. Rory Conley.
