Carmel M. Stone, 79, of La Plata, MD passed away at Genesis Health Care on October 3, 2011.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Martin Murphy and Catherine Miller Murphy, and Husband; Paul M. Stone.

She is survived by her daughters; Cathy Carter, Sharon Wilmoth (Randy), and Alice Oliver. Brothers; Bobby Murphy, Brother Bob Murphy, O. Carm., and Tommy Murphy (Purita). Also by grandchildren; Kristy, Lori, and Sherry and great-grandchildren; Joseph, Caleb, and Kowyn.

Carmel enjoyed walking, and biking in her earlier years. She also enjoyed cooking, watching TV, decorating, and sewing.

A viewing will take place on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata, MD. A committal service will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10 am in the Chapel at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD with burial to follow there in the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department and the Charles County Rescue Squad.
