Mrs. MacCoy was a high school teacher with the Prince George's County Board of Education for 38 years and a member of Christ Episcopal Church, La Plata, where she served as a volunteer for the poor.

She loved scrap booking, reading, history, animals, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She most enjoyed being with family and decorating her house for the holidays.

Daughter of the late John Herbert Dudley and the late Sarah Estelle Land Dudley. Predeceased by her parents.

Survived by her husband of 45 years, John R. MacCoy; two daughters, Sarah Jennifer (Dustin) Brill of Mechanicsville, MD and Cynthia (Shawn) Wharton of Annapolis, MD; daughter in love, Rose Troutman of Glen Burnie, MD; one brother, James H. (Debi) Dudley of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Adeline Miller of Midlothian, VA; and five grandchildren, Emily, MacKenzie, Kylie, Abigail, and Olivia.

Visitation: Friday, September 23, 2011 from 5-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Celebration of Life Service: Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11AM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 21708 Mt. Zion Church Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Clergy: Rev. Ann Strickler. Interment: Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11AM at Charity Neck Methodist Church Cemetery, Virginia Beach, VA. Pallbearers: Dustin Brill, Derek Brill, Shawn Wharton, Andrew Martin, Zachery Herman, and James Dudley.

Family requests participants not wear black clothing.
