Shirley Ann Hilderbrand Snyder, 76, of La Plata, MD, died September 16, 2011, at her residence with Hospice. Mrs. Snyder passed away peacefully at her home Friday, September 16, 2011. Born July 20, 1935, in Indian Head, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Curtis Hilderbrand and the late Estelle Kersey Hilderbrand.

Predeceased by her parents.

She attended business college after high school and began her professional career as a legal secretary / bookkeeper / office manager. She retired as an Administrative Credit Officer from a local bank in 2006.

Since then she spent her time enjoying life with her husband, Wallace Wayne Snyder, to whom she was married for almost 30 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 82 Women's Auxiliary. She is remembered for her love of sewing, dancing, butterflies, and bells.

Survived by her husband, Wallace W. Snyder; sons, Streak Elder, Erb Elder, Don Snyder; daughters, Vicki Elder Dailey, Lisa Elder Keys, Melanie Elder Keys, Melanie Elder Reagan, Lisa Kim Sutphin, Ann Marie Keska. Also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gathering will be Saturday, October 29, 2011, at 1PM with a memorial service beginning at 2PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will be private.
