![]() Warner Clifford Robert Hansen RMC(SS) USN Retired, age 66, of Leesburg, VA, formerly of Great Mills, MD, died from complications of pancreatic cancer at home surrounded by his loving family, on September 14, 2011.
Warner was the most unselfish, giving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. Some of his favorite things were the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, golfing, fishing, Star Wars, Star Trek, NCIS, and Coors Light. He also loved his animals, especially Heidi Mae and Winston. Warner loved traveling and was able to explore many places all over the world. Among his favorites were cruising and attending Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Born on January 5, 1945, in Brisbane, Australia, he was the son of the late Clifford F. and Doris E. (Knudsen) Hansen. He served with pride and honor in the U.S. Navy, Submarine Service for 22 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. After retiring from the Navy, he was employed by BAE Systems, Inc., as a Certified Property Professional Manager for 26 years. He was also a member and elected board officer of the National Property Management Association (NPMA) Federal Chapter. Warner was also an active member and trustee of Elks Lodge 2092 and a current member of Elks Lodge 2406. Warner is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna Hansen; his children, Wayne J. Hansen and wife Autumn of Tomball, TX, Matthew C. Hansen and wife Ester of Houston, TX, Erica S. Crandall and husband, Jimmy, of Cut Bank, MT, and Jennifer L. Brown and husband, Scott, of Great Mills, MD, along with 17 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Warren Marks and wife, Jacqui of Lewiston, Australia, Wayne Hansen and wife, Cindy, of Elkhorn, WI and Dawn Hansen and partner, Jean, of Oak Lawn, IL. Family will receive friends for Warner's Life Celebration to be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with prayers recited at 7:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
