Mildred Frances Dent, 93, of Waldorf, MD, died September 6, 2011, at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. Born July 6, 1918, in Waldorf, MD, she was the daughter of the late James Dudley Robey and the late Laura Frances Williams Robey.

Mrs. Dent was a lifelong Charles County resident and attended the old Waldorf School. She was a long-time member of Calvary Methodist Church in Waldorf, MD where she sang alto in the church choir. She was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service and the Waldorf Homemakers. She was an accomplished seamstress and later hand-crafted nativity pieces. In her earlier years, she had painted signs for several Waldorf businesses. Mrs. Dent was a musician and an avid Bingo player with a particular of fondness for the Waldorf Jaycees.

Predeceased by her parents; her husband of 71 years, Frederick P. Dent; son, Robert P. Dent; brothers, Leo, Grover, and Dudley Robey; and sisters, Inece Kidwell and Edna Buckler.

Survived by son, James Dent and his wife Joan of La Plata, MD; daughters, Nancy Tilghman of Owings, MD; Carol and her husband Dudley Hagy of Fredericksburg, VA; ten grandchildren, Brenda Ziegler, Laurie Dent, Ronnie Ellis, Vickie Hayden, Pat Ellis, Lisa Ellis, Kristen Hagy, Amanda Lewis, Linda Dent-Mitchell, and Holley Zippi. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 11, 2011, from 5-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 12, 2011, at 11AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, Waldorf, MD. Rev. Robert Carter and Rev. Edward Chance will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakland Methodist Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
