Honora "Nora" V. Beasley 63, of Coltons Point, MD formerly of Washington, DC, died on September 4, 2011 at her residence. Born on October 13, 1947 in Ohio she was the daughter of the late Harold Francis and Nina Ann Otis.

Nora was the loving wife of Paul Joseph Beasley, whom she married in Washington DC.

She is survived by her daughter Molly Ann Beasley and granddaughter Margaret Anne McLaughlin, both of Lexington Park, MD.

Nora graduated from Anna Lalor Burdick Vocational High School in 1967. Nora founded Children's Day at the St. Clements Island Museum in 1984, and was in charge of the museum for many years. Nora was involved in the sport of baton twirling for 15 years, spending many weekends at competitions with her daughter and worked hard at promoting the sport. For three years on weekends, you could find Nora traveling with the Chopticon Marching Band competition where she was known as "Momma Beasley" to all of the kids. Nora loved country music, going to concerts, and NASCAR racing. Nora loved her family and all of her friends and most of all she enjoyed spending every minute she could with her granddaughter.

The Family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2011, from 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:00 AM in All Saints Episcopal Church, Avenue, MD with Rev. Kathleen Price officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
