Philip "Leary" Cusick, 74, of Port Tobacco, MD, died July 29, 2011, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Born December 13, 1936, in Dentsville, MD, he was the son of the late Foley Leo Cusick and the living Rosalie Moreland Cusick.

Mr. Cusick was a retired Senior Master Sgt. With the United States Air Force, having served for 20 years and an Assistant Superintendent of Rail Car Maintenance with the Metro Transit Authority in Washington, DC for an additional 20 years. He could repair anything, was a carpenter who built his own house, loved music, fishing, animals, dancing, swimming, and was an avid reader. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata, MD.

Predeceased by his father; and son-in-law, Edward Radcliff. Survived by his mother, his wife of 50 years, Theresa Ruth Delaney Cusick; children, Philip L. (Linda) Cusick, Jr., of Belleville, IL, Michael P. (Virginia) Cusick of La Plata, MD, Jeffrey M. (Tammy) Cusick of Marbury, MD, Sue A. (William) Greer of Nanjemoy, MD, Barbara J. (Joel) Carpenter of Leonardtown, MD, Christy J. Cusick of Overland Park, KS, Kimberly L. Cusick of Crofton, MD, Gregory J. (Carrie) Cusick of Hughesville, MD, and Kelly M. (Jeffrey) Hawks of Lexington Park, MD; one sister, Elizabeth Radcliff of La Plata, MD; and one brother, David Wayne Cusick of La Plata, MD. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 5, 2011, at 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, MD. Fr. Robert Buchmeier and Msgr. Karl Chimiak will officiate. Interment will be at Church Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
