Mrs. Barnett was a homemaker, a member of D.A.R. and a member and volunteer of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryantown, MD. In her earlier years, she was a beauty shop owner (Lillian's Salon) in Washington, DC. She was also the owner of Dent's Palace since 1958. She was an accomplished artist, avid antique collector, and a history buff.

Daughter of the late Arthur Joseph Middleton and the late Mary Ethel Burch.

Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arnold William Barnett, Sr.; late son, Arnold William Barnett, Jr.; three late brothers; and five late sisters.

Survived by two sons, Robert L. (Theresa) Barnett of Waldorf, MD and Christopher B. Barnett, Sr. of Dentsville, MD; one daughter, Beverly A. (Gabriel) Middleton of Morganza, MD; and one sister, Patricia (Von) Eschelman of Stanford, CA. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
