Loren Valentine Clarke, 94, of St. Leonard, MD, died peacefully on Sunday morning July 17, 2011 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Loren was born on February 14, 1917 in Washington DC to the late Dennis Francis and Mary Rebecca Padgett Clarke.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Linda, who died in 2004, and his nine brothers and sisters.

Loren was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Port Republic, MD where he played the organ at the 8:30 Sunday services and during the jousting tournament. He was also known to serve the lunches sold at the tournament.

Loren is survived by a daughter, Christine Randall, sons Gary Clarke and Anthony Clarke, daughters in law Beverly Clarke and Cecilia Alder Clarke, grandson Michael Clarke, granddaughters Brooke Lacey, Julia Clarke, and Sarah Clarke and great grandson Tristan Clarke. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, good friends and neighbors.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday August 6, 2011, 11 A.M. at Christ Episcopal Church, 3100 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD. Interment will be private.
