James Edward Burroughs, 78, of Charlotte Hall, MD, died June 19, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD. Born April 1, 1933 in Chevy Chase, MD, he was the son of Charles Burroughs and Magarette Burroughs.

He served in the Air Force in Korea in the 6510th Air Police Squadron. Jim retired as a firefighter with Hillside Fire Department. He also worked for a time as a cab driver. Jim loved to play bingo, watch sports and spend time with his family and friends.

Jim was predeceased by his parents; wife, Anna Rae Burroughs (1996); son, Melvin Eugene Burroughs and siblings, Charlette Riliey, Wanita McDaniel.

He is survived by his children; Harriet Marie Rue of Florida, Shelly Kay Gilmore of Indiana, Mark Lewis Burroughs and Michael Jay Burroughs; sisters, Mary Huff and Carlene Heath, Margaret Ann Riliey and Evelyn Erskine brother George William Burroughs and brother-in-law Mike Goldfein 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
