Martha Elizabeth Tillman of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. She was 63 years old. Born on October 18, 1947 in Charles County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Martha E. Brown and the late James Lancaster Thomas.

A lifelong resident, Mrs. Tillman was educated in the Charles County School System and then worked as an EKG Technician and Supervisor for Civista Medical Center as well as the Waldorf Heart Center. She was very active with her church, Christ Church in Waldorf, serving as Vice President of the Women's Ministry of Christ Church, Women's Aglow Ministry, Devine Restoration Ministry, as well as teaching Bible study and started Steeping Stones Youth Ministry.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the late Alphonso Adrian Tillman; her sister, Josephine Veney; her brothers Arthur Eugene Thomas and James Lancaster Thomas II.

She is survived by her son, Alvin P. Thomas and his wife Doris of Waldorf; her brothers, Melvin Thomas and Marvin Thomas; her grandchildren Alvin P. Thomas II and Tevin C. Thomas; her companion, DeSales Woodland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Gathering on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 10AM to 11AM at Christ Church in Waldorf, MD with Funeral Service beginning at 11AM. Interment to follow at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
