Loretta Kay Monterose, age 54, of Prince Frederick, MD died June 5, 2011 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. She was born November 15, 1956 in San Diego, CA to Daniel and Patricia (Reynolds) Myers.

Loretta's father was in the military and her family moved frequently while she was growing up. She had resided in Southern Maryland since her teenage years and attended and graduated from Calvert High School, class of 1974.

She was married to Jay P. Monterose in 1986.

Loretta was very athletic and enjoyed sports as a young woman. She was a nature lover, enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in the garden. Music also played an important part of her life, and she loved to sing and dance. Loretta was in an automobile accident in February of 1988 that left her disabled. Although many of the things she was fond of were now beyond her grasp, she still was able to enjoy her family and her music.

Loretta was preceded in death by her father Daniel Myers, a brother Bruce Myers and a son Nathan A. Myers.

Surviving are her husband Jay P. Monterose of Bergenfield, New Jersey, her mother Patricia Myers of Missouri, daughters Marie C. Hopper of Winston-Salem, NC and Christina A Beltz and her husband Brian of St. Leonard, MD, grandchildren Arianna N. Hopper and Evan A. Beltz, and siblings David, Kenneth, Leslie and Yvonne Myers, all of Missouri.

Private services will be held for Loretta at the convenience of the family.
