Reinhard "Dick" Henry Steinhauser, 80, of La Plata, MD passed away on May 26, 2011. Born in Newburg, MD to the late Reinhold and Freida Steinhauser.

Dick retired from Giant Food as a truck driver. He enjoyed camping, his friends, and being with his family.

In addition to his parents; he is predeceased by his wife, Margaret A. Steinhauser. Brother; Curtis Steinhauser, sister; Anna Burnett, and great grandson; Chandler Friedrich.

He is survived by his sons; John R. Steinhauser, Martin J. Steinhauser, and Steven K. Steinhauser and his wife, Debbie. Daughters; Lori A. Weedon, and Margaret R. Stortzum and her husband, Brad, Brother; Otto Steinhauser, and companion Aleene Clark. Also by 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

A life celebration will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, MD. The Rev. Ronald Potts will officiate. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 10 am. Pallbearers will be Brent Garner, III, Thomas Weedon, Scott Steinhauser, Sean Steinhauser, Bobby Tomkiewicz, and Jacob Garner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Charles County.
