Betty Jean Lowery, 62 of Great Mills, MD passed away on May 4, 2011 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Facility.

Born March 10, 1949 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary J. Lowery. Betty is survived by her brother William of Ohio, and a host of very special friends.

Betty resided at the Deer Run group home under the auspices of The Arc of Southern Maryland. Betty was a resident of The Arc for 16 years. Due to illness, Betty was at the Chesapeake Shores Nursing Facility under the care of Hospice since October 2010.

She attended The Center for Life Enrichment for 16 years. Betty was known as Betty Boo by one of her roommates. She loved to listen to music, watch T.V., watch her fish swim around in the fish tank, sight seeing, and going to the local parks.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Betty's Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Ripple officiating. Interment will follow in the Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown MD.
