Betty J. Williams, 85, of Solomon's, MD passed away on April 25, 2011 in Asbury Solomon's Health Care Center. Mrs. Williams was born on May 22, 1925 in Connecticut to the late James C. and Sarah Pauline Hatch.

Mrs. Williams was a preschool in Fairfax, VA. She loved kids, singing, church and family. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Prince Frederick, MD. Betty and Jack enjoyed traveling, and went on many a trip throughout Europe, USA and Canada, but the one trip she enjoyed most was her many trips to the family vacation spot "The Hatchery". The Hatchery was a vacation home built by her mother in Eastham, which is in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts. She loved this place and spent many vacations there from her childhood up thru last year.

Besides her parents Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her first husband of 55 years, Donald E. Thomas, and her sister Beverly Phifer.

She is survived by her husband John W. "Jack" Williams of Solomons, MD and by children Beverly Tompkins of Carrollton, VA, James L. Thomas of Eastham MA, David J. Thomas of Bellevue WA, Peter D. Thomas of Stephens City, VA, Janet Walker of Prince Frederick, MD, and Allen Williams of Prince Frederick, MD. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday May 13, 2011, 1:30 PM at the Asbury Solomon's Retirement Community with the Rev. Randy Casto officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Brimfield, MA.
