Robert Meredith Donovan, age 79, died on April 20, 2011 at the Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick, MD. He was a long time resident of Towson, MD. and had been living at the Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD since November, 2004.

He was a Navy pilot and a Marine Corps helicopter pilot after World War 2. He attended the U. of Virginia and was the past-President of the Baltimore Chapter of the U of V alumni. He was very active all his life in supporting the U of V. He owned a Computer and Accounting forms business in Towson. He was a life-time member of the Sparrow's Point High School Assoc. He was a lacrosse referee and an avid tennis player. He was a pleasure to be with at all times.

Mr. Donovan was predeceased by his parents, Avery K. and Emma Wight Donovan, and his brother, William Donovan.

He is survived by his sons, W. Michael and David Donovan , his Granddaughter Lauris, his sisters, Sherry Schindler and Jill Duvall, and his step-brother, Frank Horner.

Memorial services will be held in Towson, MD at Johnny Dee's Restaurant at 2 PM on Friday, 4/29 and at the grave site in Harbeson, DE on Sunday, 5/1 at 1 PM .
