Dr. Delvo was an Economist for 33 years with the U.S. Government - Department of Agriculture and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church - Issue and was a life member of the American Legion Post #82 in La Plata, MD and the VFW in Bel Alton, MD. He was a member of the crab advisory for the Potomac River Fisheries Commission and a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He liked crabbing, fishing, gardening, cutting grass and delivered the Washington Post as a part-time job. He was a long-time blood donor, having donated 17 gallons plus.

Son of the late Joseph William Delvo and the late Anna Arendes Delvo.

Predeceased by his parents and one late sister, Monica Stein.

Survived by his wife of 21 years, Faith Welch Delvo; four sons, Harold W. (Karen) Coombs of Newburg, MD, Timothy R. (Phyllis) Coombs of Pomfret, MD, Robert (Kim) Delvo of TX, and Paul Delvo of NC; three daughters, Dianne Huntt of Pomfret, MD, Debbie (Gale Willett) Winkler of Newburg, MD, and Marion (Rocky) Allen of NC; and one aunt, Mary Arendes of ND. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5-8PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, April 26, 2011 starting at 11AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way, Pomfret, MD 20675) Clergy: Fr. Greg Coan Interment: Church Cemetery Pallbearers: Chip Hunt, Ray Winkler, Chad Coombs, Brandon R. Coombs, Brandon B. Coombs, Charlie Allen, Gary Shupe, and Jason Kidwell Honorary Pallbearers: United States Army Honor Guard.
