![]() Charles Reginald "Reggie" Dyson, Sr., 82, of Hughesville, MD, died April 9, 2011, at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Home, Lexington Park, MD.
Mr. Dyson was Chief Lineman for 38 years with Southern Maryland Electric Coop. In addition, he was a tobacco farmer, school bus contractor for Charles County for 25 years, custodian at Bryantown School for ten years, and worked for Everything Amish for five years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryantown, a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a third degree member of the Dr. John H. Griffin Council No. 2293. He loved gardening, woodworking and being with his family. Born July 19, 1928, in Marbury, MD, he was the son of the late George Conrad Dyson and the late Elizabeth Bowie Dyson. Predeceased by his parents; sons, Charles R. Dyson, Jr. And Louis David Dyson. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Elsie Dyson; daughters, Deborah A. Dean of Hollywood, MD; Theresa Lynn Abernathy of Hughesville, MD; Marla Marie Joy-Ragab of Lexington Park, MD; Mary Regina and her husband Richard Estevez, Jr. Of White Plains, MD; brother, George Dyson and his wife Ruby of Ironsides, MD; sister, Rosalie Louie of Ft. Washington, MD; Annabelle and her husband Thomas Gardiner of Oxon Hill, MD; Mildred Dyson of Ft. Washington, MD. Also survived by 14 grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2011, from 5PM to 8PM with a Knights of Columbus wake service beginning at 7PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13705 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown, MD. Fr. Richard Gardiner will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lee Dean, Christopher Dean, Matthew Joy, Nick Dyson, Ricky Estevez and Michael Gardiner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Beth Dean, Sarah Gray, Andrew Joy, Timmy Dyson, Ashley Dyson, Jennifer Joy, Kacey Abernathy, J.D. Abernathy, Maria and Louie Estevez. Interment will take place in the church cemetery immediately following mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13705 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617.
