Joseph Leo Davis, 93, of Waldorf, MD, died March 31, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Davis was a Projectionist with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Moving Picture Operators, Local Union #224. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in England, where he met his wife, Elsie. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Waldorf, MD. Following his retirement from the union, he went to work for Sheades & Associates of Waldorf for 10 years. He loved all the holidays when the family would gather for fun and laughter, especially his grandchildren. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.

Born September 13, 1917, in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of the late Leo Davis and the late Louise Buljur Davis.

Predeceased by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Elsie M. "Joy" Davis; and three grandchildren, Darryl Oliver, April Davis and Landon Walker.

Survived by his two sons, Philip Davis of MS and Steven (Jamie) Davis of PA; and three daughters, Angela Oliver of PA, Christine (Howard "Tex") Daniell of Waldorf, MD and Sharon Hess of La Plata, MD. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 12pm at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.

Rev. Cheyl Page will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Hilton, Scott Peabody, Mike Salviejo, Christopher Gauvin, David Oliver, Steven Davis, Jr., John Davis and Joe Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be the United States Army Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 1889, La Plata, MD 20646.
