Mr. Petrik was a Photo Lab Supervisor for 33 years with NOAA Department of Commerce, U.S. Government, and served in the United States Coast Guard from 1947-1949. He was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Indian Head, MD. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former coach with the Catholic Youth Organization.

He came to Ellis Island as a three-month-old and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He came to this area in 1950. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and was always very supportive of his family.

Son of the late Jozef Petrik and the late Anna Sukovska.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Joanne Petrik; three sons, James M. (Marilyn) Petrik of Bel Alton, MD, Andrew C. (Joanne) Petrik of Crownsville, MD, and John H. (Christine) Petrik of Bethlehem, PA; three daughters, Nancy A. (Dennis) Gillooly of Waldorf, MD, Martha E. (Ronald) Panciera of La Plata, MD, and Sally J. (Tony) DeLozier of Bryans Road, MD; two sisters, Irene Lunieski of Hicksville, NY and Anna Kalinich of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also survived by 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 5-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 11AM at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Mattingly Avenue, Indian Head, MD. Clergy: Fr. Robert Golas Interment: St. Charles Cemetery, Glymont, MD Pallbearers: David, Michael, James, John, Andrew, and James Petrik. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Coast Guard
