William Vincent Bowles, 77 of Upper Marlboro, MD, died on March 27, 2011 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Born on May 21, 1933, he was the son of the late Lawrence R. and Elizabeth B. Sommer Bowles.

William retired from Washington Gas where he held the title of General Foreman in the Pressure Division. He enjoyed traveling to the Florida Keys from January to March each year to take part in his favorite hobbies, fishing and relaxing with his friends. William was a very happy, free spirited person that always had a story or two to share.

Survived by sisters, Rosemarie Maxwell, Elizabeth Ogden, 11 nieces and nephews, his companion of 22 years, Ruth McGeady, and many other friends and relatives.

Predeceased by his wife, Joyce Sansbury Bowles and a brother, Lawrence F. Bowles.

A Service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
