Raymond H. Fowler (Ray) of Prince Frederick died March 16, 2011 at Calvert Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born May 8, 1933 in Bowen's, MD to the late Preston and Margie Fowler.

He joined the Air Force at 19 years of age and went all over the world, he served in Vietnam, Guam, France, Germany, Greenland. After 20 years he retired from the Air Force. Upon retirement Ray went back to school to learn the HVAC trade. He went on to work for the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons MD. He retired at 60 from the lab and very much enjoyed his retirement. During his retirement he visited Arizona twice, Oregon trail, Dominica Republic and France.

He met his wife Colette when he was in France and married there in 1957. They went back to France often over the years and in 2007 they renewed their vows at the same place they were married 50 years earlier. Family members from both side of the Atlantic were in attendance for the celebration.

He was proceed in death by his parents, brother William Fowler and Sister Ruth Hebert.

He is survived by three sons Danny and wife Ginger from North Potomac, MD, Jack and wife Sharon from Delray Beach, FL and Phillip and wife Janice from York SC. Four grandchildren, Samantha, Eric, Justin and Kristi. Two sisters Mildred Fowler, Naomi Griffin, sister-in-law June Fowler and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday March 18th from 6 ~ 8 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, PA. 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD 20676. There will be a funeral service on Saturday March 19th starting at 10:00 AM in the Full Gospel Assembly of God, 890 Solomons Island Rd., Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
