Mary Elizabeth Ida Michael, 103, of Morgantown, MD, died March 11, 2011, at Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, La Plata, MD.

Mrs. Michael was a Budget Analyst for 23 years at Dahlgren Naval Surface Weapons Center and a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Issue, MD. She was a charter member of the VFW Post 10081 in Bel Alton, MD. In her early years, she managed a dairy farm and was part owner of the Leonard Thompson General Store in Morgantown for 27 years.

Born January 13, 1908, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late John Edward Francis and the late Mary Elizabeth Folks Francis.

Predeceased by her parents; husband, Jerome L. Michael, Sr.; brother, Edward Greene; grandchildren, Michael Thompson and Jana Michael; and great-grandchild, Brian Reed.

Survived by son, Jerome L. and his wife Kitty Michael, Jr., of La Plata, MD; daughters, Mary McDonald of Newburg, MD; Helen Sevier of King George, VA. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from 5-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 10AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Deacon Walter Rourke will officiate.

Interment will be at Holy Ghost Church Cemetery, 15848 Rock Point Road, Newburg, MD 20664.
