Ruth Eileen Jones Pastor, 87, of Waldorf, MD, died March 10, 2011, at Morningside House of St. Charles, Waldorf, MD.

Mrs. Pastor was a registered nurse and a member of the Nursing Fraternity Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing, Kappa Chapter. She held a master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing from Catholic University with a 4.0 GPA. She first worked at DC General Hospital ER and Labor and Delivery and later at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, DC. Mrs. Pastor retired in 1974 and served as a church secretary for 20 years at Southeast Christian Church in Orlando, FL. She traveled extensively with her best friend, Beverly Morris, to Egypt, Israel, Grand Canyon and the Panama Canal.

Born October 9, 1923, in Connellsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank H. Springer and the late Ruth M. Fleckenstein Springer.

Predeceased by her parents; husbands, Joseph Carroll Jones and Morris A. Pastor.

Survived by her son, Joseph Jones of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; daughter, Elizabeth Johnston of North Tazewell, VA; best friend, Beverly Morris.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at New Life Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Pastor Mike Hilson will officiate.

Interment will be held at a later date in Orlando, FL.
