Mr. Ringgold passed away in the Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Home. He retired on January 4, 1989 from his position as a police officer for the Federal Protective Services. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served in Korea from 1950 through 1953. He was also a member of the VFW.

Mr. Ringgold loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren. His wife is Emma Helena Isaacs Ringgold. He was formerly married to Nancy Ringgold Anderson.
