![]() Mr. Pasternak was a retired Boatswain's Mate 1st Class, having served 20 years in the United States Navy. Following retirement, he worked for Macke Co. and Service America for 23 years. He was a member of the Life Stream Church of the Nazarene in Waldorf, MD and a life member of the VFW Post in Waldorf. He loved wood crafting, traveling, and was an excellent handy man. He loved being with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and made many friends as a mall-walker at the St. Charles Towne Center.
Son of the late Paul Pasternak and the late Marion Bork Pasternak. Predeceased by his parents; five brothers; two sisters; and a late grandchild, Jason Pasternak. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Lorena "Minnie" Pasternak; two sons, Joseph Ronald (Susan) Pasternak of Mardela Springs, MD and Timothy Lee Pasternak of Port Tobacco, MD; one brother, Walter Pasternak of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Bonnie, Christina, and Jeremy; two great-grandchildren, Katie and CJ; and two step-great-grandchildren, Emily and Josh. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 1-3PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service will be on Sunday, February 27 at 3PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Rev. Steve Merki will officiate. Interment will take place at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11AM.
