Proctor, Marie Christine Brown (Age 86) of Waldorf, Maryland.

Marie Christine Brown Proctor, the seventh daughter of the late A.B. Brown and the late Jessie A. Brown was born on July 7, 1924 in Fountain Inn, South Carolina.

She grew up and received her education in South Carolina. In June of 1946 Marie received her degree as a Beautician from the Poro Beautician School in Columbia, South Carolina.

Shortly after receiving her degree, Marie moved to Maryland in 1950 where she began her career as an entrepreneur. Maryland is also where she met and later married her husband, the late Robert Sylvester Proctor. She was blessed with nine children from this union.

Marie was a strong and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, cooking and knitting but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Early on Friday morning, February 18, 2011, at the Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Plata, Maryland, Marie transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all but three of her children, Robert, Theresa, Barbara, Ricky, Michelle and Jeffrey.

Left to cherish fond memories are: one daughter, Patricia "Patsy" Proctor; two sons, Ronald Proctor and Jerome "Jerry" Proctor; daughters-in-law, Rosalyn and Ann Marie; sons-in-law, Russell and Louis and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.

Viewing, 11:00am on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in the Chapel of THORNTON Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland until time of Service, 12 noon. Interment, Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland.
