![]() On Monday afternoon, February 14, 2011, God whispered in Movetta's ear, "It's time to come home now." At approximately 3:10 pm, the angels were increased by one. Movetta, "Dennie" "Mo" "Moto" or "Aunt D" as she was often called by friends and family, was born to Thomas "Llois" and Patricia Butler on August 17, 1960 at Freedman Hospital in Washington, DC.
Dennie attended public school in Charles County Maryland, graduating from Lackey High School with honors. Dennie was very active in school, she played basketball, volleyball, ran track, performed drama and was active in the art club. She served as Vice President of her Senior Class. Dennie continued her education at Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Humanities. Dennie was not used to the freezing temperatures in Illinois. Her Grandma Eloise worried constantly about her first grandchild, because of this, she would often send Dennie meals and fly her home for the weekend. During her stay at Barat, Dennie spoke highly of her family and friends back home. After graduating from Barat, she moved back to the place she loved so much-HOME. Dennie was one to find good in everyone, sharing her laughter, love for life and down right good times. You could count on Dennie, to get a good party started. It was home where she learned to joke, laugh and enjoy life the way they did. On Sundays you could always find Dennie sitting and joking in front of the television watching her Redskins. Dennie was employed by the federal government at the Department of Labor in Washington, DC. On October 19, 1988, Dennie was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Syretta Danine Butler, whom she loved and cherished. The pair was inseparable, if you saw Dennie, you saw Syretta. Dennie was instrumental in shaping her daughter into the beautiful young lady she is today and Syretta lives to make her mother proud. On October 18, 2003 Dennie married her long time love, Gregory Carl Bradley, Sr. Dennie was preceded in death by her grandparents Eloise Butler-Brown, Charles Brown, James Lester Wilkerson and Pauline Wilkerson. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Greg C. Bradley; daughter, Syretta D. Butler; parents, Thomas Llois Butler Sr. and Patricia V. Butler; two brothers, Thomas L. Butler Jr. and Parraize Butler; sister, Valeria Butler-Tibbs and her husband, Jody Tibbs; nephew, Andree Butler; two nieces, Tonya and Shannon Butler; godson, Sean Myers and a host of family and friends. Her viewing will be held on Saturday, February 19th, 12:00noon until time of Home Going Services, 1:00pm at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5560 Pleasant Grove Road, Marbury, Maryland 20658.
