Katherine Kristin "Katie" Murray, 16, of La Plata, MD, died suddenly on February 9, 2011, in La Plata, MD.

Katie was a Junior at La Plata High School.

Born March 8, 1994, in Clinton, MD, she was the daughter of Stephen and Christine Murray.

Predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Helen Murray.

Survived by her parents; sister, Danielle Murray of La Plata, MD; maternal grandparents, William and Ruth Lyons of La Plata, MD; maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Ruth Young; paternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Murray; uncles, John Lyons of Calvert County, MD; Robert and his wife Chris Murray of Baltimore, MD; aunt, Colleen Murray Martin and her husband Louis of TX; cousins, Farren, Braden and Delaney Martin, Billy and Robby Lyons; boyfriend, Zack Stephens.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, 2011, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a wake service at 7PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011, beginning at 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Fr. Ron Potts will officiate.

Burial will take place following the service at St. Mary's Newport Church cemetery.
