Alice Brubeck Bogan, 81, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Landover, MD died February 4, 2011. Born September 3, 1929 in Hot Springs, VA, she was the daughter of Raymond E. Brubeck and Ruth Ryder Brubeck Taylor and wife of the late Calvin H. Bogan, Sr.

Alice was predeceased by her parents; brother, Raymond E. Brubeck, Jr. and daughter-in-law Bonnie Bogan.

She is survived by her children; Cal, Jr. (Ginger) of South Carolina, Jan Bogan (Rick) of Port Republic, MD, Mike Bogan (Connie) of Independence, MO and Pat Bogan (Svetla) of Crofton, MD; brother, Adam S. Brubeck (Laura) OF Unionville, VA; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 step-grandson and 1 step great grandson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifetime friends.

Alice's career of 30 years with the Prince George's County Public School System began as line worker and progressed to Cafeteria Manager.

Alice and her family attended Kent Baptist Church and Landover Hills Baptist Church for may years. First Baptist Church of Calvert County was her recent place of worship. She enjoyed the fellowship of the Christian Fellowship Bowling League. She enjoyed the family gatherings and visiting the ocean. She will be missed by all, as she was always concerned about others, even to the end.

The family will receive friends for Alice's Life Celebration on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 12:00 - 2:00p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD followed by a service at 2:00p.m. conducted by Rev. Ralph Nevin. Interment will take place Monday, February 14, 2011 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice House of St. Mary's, P. O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
