Chad William Poland, age 27, of Lexington Park, MD passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2010 in Joppa, MD.

Chad was born on June 22, 1983 at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD to his loving parents Robert William Poland and Linda Jean Poland of Lexington Park.

Chad spent his childhood and most of his adult life in St. Mary's County, MD. He graduated from Leonardtown High school in 2002. He worked for two years at as McKay's in Great Mills, MD and for five years at Lowes in California, MD. He had recently relocated to Joppa, MD to attend Harford County Community College in order to pursue of a technical degree. Chad enjoyed spending time with his dog, camping, fishing, hiking and spending time in his garden. His hobbies included listening to music, reading and collecting comic books, playing video games and repairing computers.

Chad will always be remembered by those who knew him best for his gentle and kind spirit. He had a big heart and always watched out for his friends. To many in his family, he was a best friend. His cousin Michael Conn was one of his very best friends. He was a loyal and caring son to his parents and a defender to his sisters. He enjoyed living life to the fullest and although his life was brief, he touched many hearts and minds.

He is survived by his adoring parents, Robert and Linda Poland, his sisters Catherine Williams and Marion Keller; his nieces Kayla Keller and Alyssa Williams; and his nephews Giani Keller and Jamal Keller. He is also survived by his grandmother, Catherine Cunningham; his three aunts, Ellen Hardy, Marion Bauer and Susan Conn; his two uncles, James Poland and William Cunningham; He also leaves behind numerous friends, many cousins and other extended family members. Chad's absence will be felt most by those who knew him best.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Chadwell Poland, Bruce Cunningham and Edith Poland.

A Celebration of his life services was held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 3pm in the Life Community Church, 22512 Chancellors Run Road, Great Mills, MD 20634. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's County Humane Society.
