James "Jim" Goldsmith, 72, of Manning, SC, formerly of Mechanicsville, passed away on December 19, 2010 at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born June 25, 1938, in Waldorf, MD, he was the son of the late Raymond and the late Eleanor Goldsmith.

He was an Army Veteran, owned & operated R&J Builders in Mechanicsville for 29 years and retired in Manning, SC in 2005. His passions were fishing and crabbing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Lee; and his brother, Charlie.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita "Liz" Mikell Goldsmith; sons Zane Scott Goldsmith and his wife Theresa of Waldorf, MD and Dean Adam Goldsmith of Alexandria, VA; brothers, Claude Goldsmith and his wife Deloras of Murrells Inlet, SC, Leonard Goldsmith of Emporium, PA, Steven Goldsmith and his wife Susan of Mechanicsville, MD and Danny Goldsmith of Brandywine, MD; granddaughter Kathleen Conroy; and great-granddaughter Jazzmyn Pilkerton.

A Life Celebration will be held from 10:00 - 12:00 PM with a memorial service at 12:00 on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, MD.
