Wayne Edward Waugh, 78, of White Plains, MD, died December 11, 2010, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife Jibby.

He loved to laugh, enjoyed spending time with family and was an avid Redskin fan. After spending years in grocery store management with A&P and Kroger, he began his career with Allstate in 1968. In the mid 70's, he established the first Allstate booth in Charles County. He was always proud of his contributions in the early years of SMYO and his many friends in Brookwood Estates. He had many proud accomplishments in his life; among them were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For Wayne, the highlight of the past 15 years was treating his family to a mansion on the beach each summer.

Born July 16, 1932, in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late George Allen Waugh and the late Edna Ora Hill Waugh.

Predeceased by his parents and his wife, Vivian "Jibby" Kemper Waugh.

Survived by his son, Bill Waugh and his wife Dawn of La Plata, MD; his daughters, Theresa D. Mullins and her husband James of White Plains, MD, Karen E. Douglass and her husband Mike of White Plains, MD, and Judy C. Chalmers of Waldorf, MD; grandchildren, Christina Jewell, Kevin and Nicole Mullins, Michael and Michelle Douglass, and Jenna, Mollie, and Jamie Waugh; great-grandchildren, Gage White, Donovan Curtis, and Anthony Townsend. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a Funeral Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Rev. Mark Roberson and Mike Douglass will officiate.

Interment will take place on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 10AM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11331 Amherst Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20902-4662.
