Helen "Punky" Arlene Swann age 60 of Newburg, Md. died on December 11, 2010 at her home. She was born in Annapolis, Md. on July 12, 1950 to Helen McDonald and the late George Goldsmith.
Punky worked for the Maryland Transportation Authority for thirty five years and was the toll manager at the Harry Nice Bridge. She enjoyed antique auctions, fishing, painting and crochet. She is survived by her husband William "Billy" Swann, son Keith Swann, daughter Joanna Swann, brother Gary Goldsmith, sister's Joanie Roberts and Anita Grimes. She is predeceased by her son William Swann, Jr., and her brother George "Bubba" Goldsmith. The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 14, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home in LaPlata, Md. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday December 15, 2010 11am at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church Issue, Md. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
