Amy Manetta Posey was the fourth child born to James and Christabelle Blocker Posey on February 24, 1953 in Bessemer, Alabama. She was a unique child who loved to talk and laugh. Amy confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church Old Jonesboro under the leadership of the late Rev. W. C. Ward. Amy loved to work in the church and served in the youth usher ministry, youth choir, Sunday School and BTU. She was also a member of the Girl Scout Troop 249. Once in Maryland, Amy united with the Asbury United Methodist Church under watch care and later became a member of this congregation. She has always enjoyed singing and going to church. Amy was educated in the Jefferson County Schools. She attended W. A. Bell and graduated from Brighton High School in 1971. Amy moved through the ranks at the FBI advancing to many positions and acquiring promotions. During her 38 year tenure, Amy received numerous awards from the FBI for her hard work and tenacity. Amy was surrounded by a mass of associates and friends at the Bureau because of her personality and her ability to get along with whomever she came in contact. Amy was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Sylvester, on October 12, 1972. She was a loving and faithful wife until death. She was known for the phrase, "My husband…". This union was blessed with two loving daughters. Amy had a positive outlook on life and always shared it with others. She never met a stranger and left a lasting impression upon anyone who met her.
