Bernice Stewart Coller, 83, of Mechanicsville, MD died November 6, 2010 at Taylor Farms Assisted Living in Bushwood, MD. She moved to Southern Maryland from District Heights in 2008. Born August 31, 1927 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Bernard Winn Stewart and Gabrielle Gladys Gateley.

Bernice was employed for many years as a Legal Secretary for Cushman Darby & Cushman, patent attorneys. She had a beautiful singing voice and often sang gospel on the radio. She loved to cook and enjoyed eating good food. Bernice was very involved with her Church Upper Room Fellowship in Clinton, MD. She enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, attending military reunions and working in her yard.

Besides her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Jacob Coller and daughter, Sharon Gay Coller. She is survived by her son, David Stewart Coller of Bel Air, MD, daughters, Helen Coller -Kimmel of Mechanicsville, MD and, Janet Lynn Coller-Boswell of California, MD; grandchildren, Christopher and Daniel Shriver and Caleb and Savannah Coller; great-grandchildren, Alexander Shriver, Gavin Taylor and Cadence Shriver.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a gathering on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. until noon at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A service will follow at noon.

Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in a private ceremony.
