Joseph Clinton "Squirrel" Hicks, 70, of Bel Alton, MD, died October 25, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Hicks was Mason with C. Brooks Masonry in Baltimore, MD for 45 years. He was a baseball player in his youth and enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and playing music.

Born September 2, 1940, in Newport, MD, he was the son of Madeline Hicks Woodland and the late Thomas Whalen.

Predeceased by his father; and one brother, Charles Woodland, Jr.

Survived by his mother, Madeline Woodland; wife, Margaret Hicks; one son, Eddie Queen of VA; one daughter, Erica Bailey of Baltimore, MD; five brothers, Howard, John, James, Wayne and Kevin Woodland; and eight sisters, Thelma, Frances, Linda, Connie, Carolyn and Michelle Woodland, Theresa Scott, and Helen Giles. Also survived by one granddaughter, Kanira Bailey.

Visitation will be Monday, November 1, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Wake Service will be Monday, November 1, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Clergy will be Father Edward Dougherty.

Interment will be private.
