Mr. Gilroy was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a Retired Project Coordinator with the Indian Head Naval Ordinance Station after 22 years of service. He was a lifetime resident of Nanjemoy, MD and a lifetime member of Nanjemoy Baptist Church. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, traveling to the West Coast, and being with his Tea Cup Yorkie "Poodler." Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was the son of the late Maynard M. Gilroy, Sr. and the late Zella Fay Rogers Gilroy

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 3 years, Sandra Faye "Sandy" Gilroy; one son, Mike (Deri) Gilroy of Madisonville, TN; one daughter, Tina (Nick) Grandstaff of Nanjemoy, MD; two stepsons, George Frankie Scott and Rock Anthony Hall; two stepdaughters, Angela Marie Francingues and Candi Lynn Rye; and one brother, Nalley Lee "Scooters" Gilroy of VA. Also survived by four grandchildren, Troy, Jesse, Shane, and Jason.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

An additional Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 10am till time of Funeral Service at 11am at Nanjemoy Baptist Church, 3030 Baptist Church Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662.

Clergy will be the Rev. Brian Corrick.

Interment will follow at Gilroy Family Cemetery, Nanjemoy, MD.
