Anna Mae "Hoppy" Ridgell, 69, of Great Mills, MD, died on Friday, January 19, 2007 in Dameron, MD.
Born on July 22, 1937 in Great Mill, MD, she was the daughter of the late Philip Neal and Sarah Alberta Dement Langley. In July 28, 1956 she married John Allen Ridgell in St. Michaels Church he died in 1974. She was life long resident of St. Mary's County where she was member of St. Michael's Catholic Church the Ladies of Charity and the K C Bells. She had worked at St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City, MD in the food service department until her retirement. She enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards especially Pitch, being with friends, and helping others by her friendly smile and caring ways. Mrs. Ridgell is survived by three children, Timothy Allen Ridgell and his wife Bonnie, Philip "Heavy" Ridgell and his wife Brenda both of St. Inigoes, MD, and Sarah Lynne Ridgell of Lexington Park, MD, sister; Agnes Tippett , four brothers; Charles Langley, Sr., Ronnie Langley, David "Toby" Langley and Jake Langley all of Great Mills, MD, six grandchildren, Ashleigh Ridgell, John Ridgell, Christy Ridgell, Matthew Ridgell, Lauren Ridgell and Emily Ridgell, and her very special friend, John Trossbach. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a sister Catherine "Kitty" Daulton and a brother Philbert " Jimmy Langley. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Ridge, MD with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Msgr. Maurice O'Connell pastor of the church on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Langley, Tommy Langley, Charles Langley, Danny Langley, Phil Langley, Jimmy Daulton, Sonny Trossbach, Jr. and Mark Buckner.
