Mrs. Suthard, born October 20, 1937 in Boone, NC, was the first of the nine children of the late William Andrew Cornett and the late Blanche May Cornett. After moving with her family to MD from NC in 1952, Mary was employed in many of the bygone restaurants that were a large part of Charles County life and she was a meat cutter for a grocery store. She and her husband, Jim, owned and operated a Waldorf business for many years before their retirement. She was full of life and energy, was very talented, loved the outdoors, gardening, crocheting, her pets, family, and friends. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, James Daniel Suthard.

She is survived by one son, Charles Lee "Chuckie" Vernon; brothers, Harry Cornett and his wife Marlene and James Cornett; sisters, Lena Isom, Lois Adams and her husband Glen, Patricia Langley and her husband Rob, Carolyn Moore and her husband Skip, Lynn Zindler and her husband Marty, Ellen Pankake and her husband Johnny, and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service & Interment will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10AM at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery Chapel, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD.
