Mr. Yates was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Fingerprint Technician for the F.B.I. for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Newport and enjoyed gardening, yard work, home repairs, and being with family.

Son of the late Walter Yates and the late Virginia Lee Ramsey.

Predeceased by his parents and wife Christina Amelia Richards Yates.

Survived by his two sons, Paul A. (Debra) Yates of Owings, MD, and James L. (Mary) Yates of La Plata, MD. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 10am till time of Mass at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Newport, 11555 St. Mary's Church Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.

Clergy: Father Mark Ervin.

Pallbearers: James R. Yates, Travis Yates, Tristan Brown, Zachary Bailey, David Howell, and Brady Greene.

Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Charlotte Hall, MD.
