Shirley Hutchins Kaine, 82, of Port Republic, Maryland passed away on August 7, 2010 at Calvert Memorial Hospital.

Shirley was born October 31, 1927 in Prince Frederick, MD to the late Brooke Raymond and Ada McVoy Hutchins. Besides her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Robert Kaine.

The most rewarding time of her life was when she was Chairman of the Calverton Fair, which was sponsored by the Calverton School Mothers Club. She served in this position during the years 1967-1972 raising funds for the schools growth. She was also elected as an honorary citizen of Calverton by the board of Directors for the years 1967-1973. Shirley was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Because of her many unselfish acts of kindness, there are treasures in heaven waiting for her.

She is survived by her son, R. Brooke Kaine of Owings, MD and her daughter, Cheryl J. Kaine Bilbo of Chesterfield VA. Grandmother of Nick, Erica and Mallory Kaine, she is also survived by her beloved caregiver for 20 years, Judine Hester (the glue that kept the family together).

The family will receive friends on Friday August 13, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church from 10 to 11 AM where a celebration of Shirley's life will take place at 11 A.M. Immediately following the service the family would like to invite everyone to a reception in the church hall.

Interment is private. Pallbearers will be Joel Bilbo, Glen Walker, George Anderson, Steve Green, Joe Dean and Ambrose Cucunotta.
