Doris E. Gardiner, 84 of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Waldorf, MD, died August 3, 2010 at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Born on August 22, 1925 in La Plata, MD, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Arline Thompson St. Clair. Doris was a homemaker, wife, and a loving mother of seven.

Preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Teets" Gardiner, Sr., and survived by her children, Doris Anne Bradburn & husband Leo, Edward "Bubby" Gardiner, Jr. & wife Diane, David Gardiner & wife Sandy, Beverly Long & husband Dwight, Sr., William "Perky" Gardiner & wife Kae, John Gardiner, Sr. & wife Tracy, and Edie Kans & husband Ronnie, two brothers, James Hoover Thompson, Sr. and Walter "Bunny" St. Clair, Jr., 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A Life Celebration will be held Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 2-5 p.m. with prayers recited at 4 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will take place Monday, August 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, MD with Rev. John Caulfield officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.

Pallbearers will be, John Burch, Michael Burch, Steven Barnas, Dwight D. Long, Jr., Bryan Long, and John Gardiner, Jr.
